Government House.

14th.February 1910.

I have the honour to submit the following

In June 1907 I offerred

matter for your consideration.

the appointment of Aide de Camp to myself, as Governor of

Hongkong, to Captain P.H.M.Taylor, 32nd.Lancers, Indian Army,

and with the sanction of the Indian Government he accept-

ed it and was seconded as from 19.6.07.

He was aware that he would still be liable for his con-

tributions to the Indian Military Service Family Pension

Fund and for his subscriptions to his Regimental Mess Fund.

These he has continued to pay and they have amounted to an

average sum of £25 per annum.

His salary as Aide de Camp is £300 per annum, with no allow-

ances except a conveyance allowance which is fully expend-

ed for the purpose it is granted.

Though irrelevant to the matter at issue I may mention

that he contributes a sum of £5 per mensem to the support

of a relative, leaving him an available nett balance for

his own purposes of £215 per annum.

On the 3rd.November last Captain Taylor re-

ceived from the Office of the Comptroller,India Treasuries,

at once a

sum of Rs.5780 as contribution for leave and
